As we approach the 20th year of KYC, we reflect on the guidance and support provided by our community and Elders throughout the years. Acknowledging the strength and resilience of our community, we recognise our responsibility to provide opportunities and support for our young people. The upcoming 5-Year Strategic Plan (2023-2028) is designed to be a living document that adapts to the changing needs of our community and our youth. It aims to create a future where our young people thrive and feel a strong sense of belonging.

In April 2022, KYC commissioned Blak Wattle Coaching to work collaboratively on a new five-year vision through a Strategic Plan. This plan aims to clearly share our vision for the future, make deliberate choices, and integrate efforts to achieve this vision. It is an ever-evolving process, and clarity on its application to each role and function within the organisation is essential.

Strategic Plan Artist
Arrernte artist Bri Apma Hayes, creator of Ntulye Art, honours her connection to her family and their stories, named after her great Nana Minnie (Undeyla). Born and raised on Waddawurrung Country in Geelong, Bri’s practice began from watching her father paint. Following his footsteps, she began painting on canvas and now works in digital illustration, incorporating mainly orange, brown and blue throughout her work to represent connection to country and water. Her artwork is an extension of herself, her family and cultural knowledge. Bri’s commissioned work includes AFL Auskick, Melbourne Vixens, Richmond VFLW, Barwon Health, Kardinia College and The Royal Australian Airforce.
